In my March 15 blog post, I expressed hope that one of the Massachusetts House Bills, H.3010 or H.3011, would be passed into law. This legislation aimed to save some businesses $250 annually on their LLC Certificate of Registration Fees. This would lower MA LLC fees annually from $500.
Unfortunately, neither bill will be passed during this year’s session. On May 15, 2024, the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies sponsored Bill H.405, titled “An Act Reducing Filing Fees for LLCs,”. It was subsequently referred to the House Rules Committee and is part of Study Order H4593.
We’ll have to wait until the next session of the House of Representatives to see if businesses will benefit from lower MA LLC fees.
